O ne glorious day in my young and foolish years, I was cruising down Seawall Blvd in Galveston on my Seca 650 Turbo. A fellow on another motor cycle pulled up to next to me at the light and revved his engine. We raced from light to light until the turnaround at East Beach. When we stopped to chat, I discovered that he was a City of Houston police officer visiting the beach on his day off.

I had mixed feelings about the situation. The feelings of relief for not getting a ticket were fighting a losing battle against the feelings of anger at the other fellow for being a cop. Meanwhile, a strong sense of indignation was creeping into the mix because HE WAS A COP who was drag-racing some stupid kid on a motorcycle!
